This site is dedicated to the history and people of Bradwall Reformatory School, Walnut Tree Lane, Bradwall, Cheshire, founded by George William Latham in 1855, following an 1854 Act of Parliament. This ruled that children under the age of 16, convicted of a criminal offence, could be sent to Reformatory School, a penal and educational institution for children.

See Recent Posts for the range of topics and content covered.

If you have any further information relating to the Reformatory School, the people who worked here, or the boys who were inmates here, then we would be very grateful to hear from you. In particular, we would be most pleased to receive any photos.
